Adoption Group Partnerships

Is your Greyhound adoption group looking for hounds to adopt, but having problems getting them because the closest Greyhound race track is a few states away?
The AGRAC might be able to help you out, which in turns helps us out!

The AGRAC has a custom built, one of a kind in the industry, hauling van capable of transporting 20-24 Greyhounds across the country and into Canada. All Greyhounds going to other groups from the AGRAC are :
  1. Kept up to date on vaccinations (Rabies, DHLPP, and Bord)
  2. Up to date on heartworm and intestinal parasite prevention
  3. Up to date on flea and tick prevention (we use Frontline or Advantix)
  4. Given a Capstar before being loaded onto the hauling van
  5. Option of being delivered to your group already spayed or neutered - INCLUDING a heartworm test and ultrasonic dental
  6. Option of having a 4DX SNAP test (click here to read more) to check for tick borne illnesses
  7. Option of being microchipped and registered to YOUR group for life!
  8. Delivered to your group to pretty much anywhere in America (yes, we do deliver to Canadian groups as well, just please message us!)
  9. Able to temperament test each hound before you receive them to know if they are cat, small dog, or medium dog tolerant or workable. If needed, we are also capable of parrot testing.

We've delivered hounds from as far away as Seattle, Washington to our North West; Phoenix, Arizona to our West; Ontario, Canada to our North; and Maine, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia to our North East!

"Ellanore's" adventures have also included delivering adoptable Greyhounds headed to participate in prison programs in Nashville, TN, Millen, GA, and Quincy, FL. The inmates teach the Greyhounds how to sit, down, stay, come when called, and how to walk politely on a leash before heading out to their adoption groups and into loving homes.

Some adoption groups regularly come visit us to pick out their adoptable hounds. We tend think of them as "sister groups", since we work so closely together.

We are more than happy to help - after all, this is what it is about -
HELPING HOUNDS FIND LOVING HOMES!!
~HOWEVER~

We try hard to match up the right hound with the right home, be that home through our program or yours. If you have a waiting home looking for that special hound (such as a Therapy or even a possible Service Dog), please don’t hesitate to contact us.

We do our best to assure that all groups have equal opportunity to the highly demanded small pet tolerant hounds.

Therefore, we must inform everyone that due to this high demand, we cannot "play favorites" and deliver only small pet tolerant hounds to any one group.

Groups are welcomed to choose as many non-small pet tolerant hounds as they would like to have.

We will do our best to help groups with "special requests" for those super special homes and needs.

If you are with a group and would like more information on getting adoptable hounds from us, please give our director, Jennifer, a call at (205) 838-7475 or email Jennifer at : AGRACStaff@gmail.com  "ATTN JENNIFER-Hauling".

We cordially ask to please keep our drivers in mind when delivering. We raise funds to do these hauls, paying for meals, camp grounds or hotels or Flying J / Pilot Travel Center showers. After driving more than 17 hours on the road, a small token of thanks by means of gift cards to chain restaurants (Cracker Barrel, Ruby Tuesdays, Olive Garden, Applebees, etc) to purchase a good hot "sit down and out of the truck" meal, Visa Gift Cards (which can help pay for our drivers to stay at campgrounds or get a hot shower after camping at a rest stop), or food goodies goes a long way and are extremely appreciated!

The Alabama Greyhound Rescue and Adoption Center is located on the property of the Birmingham Race Course.
We support fellow pro-racing and racing neutral adoption groups.
